Weddings at the Spread Eagle Inn
  • Idyllically set within the 2,600 acres of the renowned Stourhead Estate, one of the most popular National Trust properties in the country, the Spread Eagle offers a unique and picturesque location for your Wedding Reception.

    We are a short stroll away from one of the finest landscape gardens in the world and ceremonies can take place at the National Trust’s Temple of Apollo which provides a panoramic view of the garden and a stunning backdrop for wedding photographs. The Spread Eagle is an AA 4 star establishment and has been a popular Wedding Reception venue with couples for many years due to its excellent location and warm hospitality. Five en-suite bedrooms are available to book for you and your guests to stay in over the period of your wedding celebrations. 

Wedding Receptions at the Spread Eagle

We can cater for receptions in either our Red room which can seat up to 40 or our Green room up to 20. We can also cater for larger receptions in the Memorial Hall. You have the dedicated services of our wedding coordinator who will help with all your planning and our experienced staff will be on hand throughout your special day to make everything run smoothly.  We look forward to welcoming you and your guests to the Spread Eagle Inn.

  • The Red Room

    The larger of our two rooms, our Red Room can seat a total of 40 guests. 

    A beautiful setting for your wedding reception with its high ceilings, classic chandeliers, stone fireplace and sash windows. You will be truly spoilt with views across to the Stourhead Garden and Lake as you sit and enjoy your meal with friends and family. The Red room tables can be arranged and decorated as you so wish. 

  • The Green Room

    The smaller of our two rooms, our Green Room can seat a total of 20 guests, perfect for smaller gatherings. 

    With its character fireplace and large picture window it makes for an intimate setting for your wedding reception. The tables can be arranged and decorated as you so wish. 

  • The Memorial Hall

    For larger weddings of up to 100 there is Stourton Memorial Hall, just a stone’s throw away across the courtyard.

    Although not run by the Inn we can help with your special day and our team can cater for you and our bar facilities and staff can be made available for your special day
