We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and fully qualified Chef to assist in running our large, busy restaurant kitchen. You must be able to work on your own initiative and work alongside our Kitchen Team during very busy periods. You will work closely with our Head Chef in the production of all home cooking recipes using locally sourced and fresh produce from the surrounding area.
You will need to be calm and work efficiently to a very high standard and high demands we experience here. The Restaurant alongside our Bar Area and Outside Seating area demands fast and efficient control of foods being expedited from our kitchen. Our Menus consist of British Classics and Gastro foods for our visitors to the World famous Stourhead Gardens and our local Country Inn set in the beautiful gardens of Stourhead.
The successful applicant will have had previous experience in this role or be looking to step up from Chef de Partie but with a proven record in:
Managing a Busy kitchen
Setting menus and food pricing
Ordering and monitoring supplies
Rostering Staff
Instructing Apprentices and Team members
Be prepared and capable in working in any station of the kitchen if need be.
Be able to run the kitchen efficiently in the Head Chef’s absence
Attention to detail is a must as is demonstrated culinary expertise. You must be able to cope in a calm and efficient manner with the large numbers our kitchen demands. You will have creativity and passion and will help produce innovative dishes and enhance the overall dining experience of our customers.
COMIS CHEF up to £12.50 PH
You will have Level 1 and 2 in Food Safety Awards
Minimum 6 months proven experience in a commercial kitchen
Certification in the Culinary Arts

We are looking to recruit a hardworking and efficient Commis Chef to prepare meal ingredients. You will be competent in assisting your team members in meal preparations, receiving deliveries and rotating Staff.
You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills and ensure that all duties are completed in a efficient and timely manner. You will be competent in following instructions and complying with Food Health and Safety Regulations.
You will be preparing basic salads and sauces as directed by the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef or Head Chef. Your duties will include performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring work stations are properly cleaned and sanitised.
On the job training will be given to further your career. There is opportunity to further your career with us here at the Spread Eagle.
